That’s right you can now load Skype onto your PSP and make phone calls with their software! It is free when making or receiving calls from other Skype users (other PSP-2000 owners).

Click the link below to find out what you’ll need and other details.

I have not written in quite a while, but I’m excited about Skype being released for the PSP!!!

What you’ll need:

  • PSP-2000 system
  • PSP Headset
  • PSP Headphones with Remote Control
  • Wi-Fi environment
  • Memory Stick Duo with Skype software
  • Free Skype account
  • Lastest system software update 3.90(25meg)

As I said making calls to other PSP’s with Skype will be free but there is a fee for being able to make calls to landline phones. You can purchase Skype credit for the following services at their website.

  • SkypeOut- Calling landlines from your PSP-2000 is $29.95 a year for unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada. International calls are additional cost.
  • SkypeIn- Receiving calls from landlines to your PSP-2000 is $60 a year and you can receive phone calls from anywhere in the world. The SkypeIn service provides your PSP-2000 with it’s own phone number.

Ksmith0162 - unfortunately I don’t have the PSP-2000 system, I have the old original system so I can’t try it out on my PSP :( But I’ve heard from others with the newer PSP-2000 that it does work.
